Ouch.

All the free games were gifts for either my birthday or Christmas. The Amiibos I got cos I wanted them. Ice Climber and Jet Force Gemini were cheap in-store purchases, and Stranded Kids was a long awaited acquisition from eBay.

The Wii U eShop and VC games were either me trying to earn enough for the next money back code on the Wii U Deluxe Promotion, or me spending the money I got from said promotion and an eShop card I recieved as a secret santa gift. Hyperdimension Neptunia was on offer on PSN for their January sale.

I picked up the RetroN5 to play translated imports (still waiting for it to arrive though) and kinda went a bit nuts buying some import games to try on it.

This year has been a pretty expensive year - here's the totals:

This was probably my favorite thread of 2014. loved seeing everyone's purchases & it encouraged me to track money in/out. The tracking made "the hunt" even more fun.

To be honest, I had no idea if I was spending a lot or a little. After closely monitoring I realized the hobby is only costing me ~$33 a month which is absolutely manageable for the enjoyment I get out of both collecting & playing games.

... actually prob spend less now as an adult than I did as a kid spending my lawn mowing money

For the life of me, I did not think the total would get that high. I'm lucky if I spot 1-2 carts a year for that system and this year gave me a windfall. I was pleasantly surprised by that. Especially considering most of those are from the Pal region.

Least surprising total: N64
It's just getting harder and harder to find much of this system around here
