I meant that I'm not counting Castlevania: Rondo of Blood until I get a 100%, which comes after beating Stage 5'.

65. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire 3DS *NEW*

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire is a pretty great remake of the original Pokémon Sapphire. The new game elements are interesting, although they could have used more of them earlier on - it takes a while to find new content here.

The world of Hoenn is still wonderfully realised, although it feels more disjointed than before as environments are split into sections with screen transitions rather than the world being continuous as it was on GBA. I feel they probably could have done this better than they have. The HM requirements of the game are still ridiculous too, which is a shame - it's annoying having to waste moveslots or team spaces on HM moves.

Every pokémon game that comes out is generally of top quality, and this one is no different. That said, Pokémon is Pokémon, and there's not a lot new to discuss here. If you like the series, this one is excellent.

Games Beaten = 30

Again I failed to keep this updated. Seems like 30-ish games is what I hit every year, gonna try for 40 in 2015 (and also I'll try to get this updated every couple of games.)

8/1 BEYOND: Two Souls (PS3)
I really enjoyed BEYOND. The acting is definitely a step up from Heavy Rain and I feel like this was needed, because I felt the writing wasn't as strong. The actors really helped sell some of the goofy bits that are here. I really enjoy movies that kind of play with reality and are just hard to explain (most Nolan films) and this has this in spades, you're constantly question what's happened and are left with a sense that you don't quite get it, but you liked what you saw.

8/1 The Walking Dead Season 2: Episode 5 - No Turning Back (PS3)
I love the way that Telltale continues to make just entertaining thrillride games. I got super frustrated with where they took certain characters and I felt restricted in some of my choices. I felt like Bonnie was bad news from the beginning and I would've left her behind if I could have, for example. The ending is very Walking Dead though and while I didn't think it had the emotional impact of the first game I still thought it was a solid season.

8/15 The Last of Us: Left Behind (PS4)
The best DLC I've ever played. I thought this would be good, but it really blew away my expectations. The emotion and the storytelling that Naughty Dog manages in such a short period with these characters is remarkable. I absolutely adored this.

9/7 DEVICE 6 (iOS)
I played this on an iPad and it's fantastic. It's interactive fiction like you've never seen before. It's a book ... with pictures ... and then you have to turn the iPad 90 degrees to follow words down a path ... then there's an audio bit ... and a puzzle ... It defies explanation, but if you love puzzles and a great narrative, play this ASAP.

9/30 Destiny (PS4)
I'm not sure what to say about Destiny. I love it, but I acknowledge it has a ton of flaws. It's probably the most fun I've had in a multiplayer setting, playing the same content over and over again. If you have a group of friends that you want to hang out with and play an FPS with amazing mechanics and a crappy story, this is the game for you.

10/30 The Stanley Parable (PC)
Just a great, playful game. Plays with the tropes of the industry and makes you think about the games you play.

11/18 Max and the Curse of the Brotherhood (XB1)
Really fun, platformer. You have a magic marker that can draw platforms and vines and other elements that you need to get through levels. Great game to pick up if you need to add to your XB1 library.

12/19 Escape Goat (PC)
I've been eyeing this for awhile and a friend picked it up for me for Christmas. And then ... I couldn't stop playing it. Puzzle/platformer, you're a goat with a couple of abilities and you have to get through each level. Each level is one screen and you have to hit switches, levers and other devices to get through. Levels are grouped into sections that build on each other and it works really well without getting frustrating.

Mirror's Edge
I have been told by so many people how great this game is, but just never got around to playing it. I agree with a lot of what I have read in that the gunplay is very weak, but that did not bother me all to much. The game to me is much more of a puzzle game than anything else, you go through each section trying to figure out how to scale to to end.

I felt that the flash style cartoons really took away from the game and just felt out of place.

Great game that ends just before the mechanics wear out there welcome.

FORGOT TO ADD THIS, ONLY NOTICED WHEN I WENT TO POST IN THE 2015 THREAD.
