With no sarcasm intended, I bet owning Bioshock automatically qualifies you as being the coolest person on the block.

What's the consensus on Infinite's replay value?

consensus? Dunno. I don't usually replay games anyway, but Bioshock Infinite unlocks "1999 mode" when you beat it (or you can unlock it earlier using the Konami code). It sounds like it would be worth trying out:

"In addition to the normal game mode, BioShock Infinite will include a "1999 Mode", so named for the release year of System Shock 2, a game worked on by Levine and several other Irrational Games developers. 1999 Mode is a more challenging version of the game, requiring the player to make mutually exclusive specialization choices, such as choosing which weapon type that Booker is proficient at, which may make later parts of the game difficult to complete, and may require the player to reload from earlier saved games to manage their resources better."

There's also a "season pass" for DLC (which I've purchased) that would likely be adding some new story-driven campaign additions to the main narrative. Looking forward to seeing what that stuff is.

Not sure why you think owning Bioshock makes someone cool, but then again I don't live on a block so I probably just don't get all your hipster suburban lingo.

I'm interested in playing Infinite, but I never finished the original Bioshock, and never even played the second.

Is that something I should go back and do, or is Infinite completely independent?

You can enjoy Infinite without ever having played the original. if you played the original, you will likely just catch some references to it.

EDIT: You may also find Skyrim references

That's good, I'll probably check it out soon then.

As for Wounded Knee...

Well, I don't know what to say really. :| That's just plain disappointing.

25. Breath of Fire (SNES)(RPG)
26. The Death and Return of Superman (SNES)(Beat 'Em Up)
27. Battle Blaze (SNES)(Fighting)

Another SNES game down. Thank goodness, as I genuinely detest this fighting game. While I don't believe it is the worst fighting game the SNES has to offer(Pit-Fighter holds that title), there's a lot here that I dislike. For one, players may only use one character in the plot, and it quickly becomes obvious that he is fairly underpowered: his damage his poor, his range is mediocre, his speed is lacking, and his special move is so slow that it really only works as an anti-air attack which must be timed with efficiency. As the hero, he must face the four other main characters and then the final boss, who are more than happy to show him how weak he is.

That's not to say he's totally useless. He has two advantages: a decent range on his absurdly weak sweep and a handful of aerial moves which I found myself relying on heavily. His throw is not bad, but then it's not anywhere near as good as the other characters in terms of damage. I found that really, he was best at hit-and-run tactics, leaping in to knock an opponent down with a aerial attack and leaping away if it hits or sweeping and escaping if it missed. Throws did come in handy in the final boss battle, but that was mainly because everything else did so little damage it didn't seem worth doing. That was really the extent of my strategy, because there just weren't any other moves to justify using. But when you're a one-button fighting game that wants desperately to be a two-button fighting game, there's really not much to do.

But if that wasn't bad enough, the game's hit boxes are poorly designed. More than once I watched a projectile clip through me like it was nothing, and I suspect that more than once I was thrown from a crouch. Attack ranges and animations get weird in the air, especially with the final boss and his leaping tail swipe. It apparently hits in front despite being aimed down.

As for music and sound, it was generally forgettable, with the exception of the final boss' laugh. That laugh echoes for a while and helped to piss me off to the point I started playing dirty and threw him about the stage like a rag doll for the win. The final boss also has the only stage I really cared for, which is primarily impressive for the ongoing lightning strikes which force the screen to go white for a microsecond. It's disconcerting to the player, which I felt adds a nice touch in an otherwise dull and frustrating game.

Battle Blaze will probably always sit near the bottom of the SNES fighting game pile for me, next to games like Street Combat and Brutal: Paws of Fury. I admit that I want to like it, but it's just not a good game. Not when I can instead play Mortal Kombat 2, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Power Instinct, Fatal Fury Special, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters, so on and so forth...

Wow, it's been a while since I fully completed a game. Sadly, Castlevania took me a good week to finish even though it's pretty short (7-8 hours). I've been busy so I've been just watching blurays since I'm too tired to really give a game my full appreciation or attention. I've also been futzing around in NHL '12 which doesn't help with game completion.

Anyways, Mirror of Fate was really enjoyable. It was fun, had some awesome 3D segments, really good music, decent story, and decent enough voice acting. I'm not sure if it warrants the IGN rating (4.7) but I understand not everyone shares the same opinion. Of course, based on game quality alone I'd say it's nowhere near the "bad" rating even if you're not a fan of the genre or series.

Too tired to write more than that. I'm working on Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon which is another awesome 3DS game. March was a good month for the 3DS.

I think this game has infinite continues, which means I'm in for a world of hurt.

Maybe...but unlike Bayou Billy, it is really, really fun. If you can get past the speed-bike level, the rest is not too bad...

(Pro-Tip: You can get through the majority of last, most challenging section of the speed bike level by simply alternating up and down on the d-pad. Also, do not press jump on the ramps, simply drive over them.)

I'd say you beat Skate or Die, Luke. Keep it on your list!

And good luck with Battletoads. The furthest I ever made it was the ice level, but that was on the Genesis.

Are there two speed bike levels? The third level is indeed a test in patience, but I remember it being far more unforgiving.

I'll keep it on the list then. I am hesitant of adding games to the list just to add another notch if you will.

I have both the Genesis and NES versions, but am currently sticking with the NES one. It's all in my mind, but it's like the NES version provides more of a challenge for some odd reason.
