After nearly four years of playing this one, finally conquered it. I restarted it earlier a month or so back and went all the way. 99% complete, only missed the treasure achievement (sans the DLC), even though I got all 99 seeds, all the skills, probably missed some stupid components somewhere so I'm not even going to bother.

It's funny how the 4th disc was a piece of cake, but up to that point it was a pretty good challenge. Definitely harder than any Final Fantasy. I beat the Immortal One on my first try among other things. But yeah, despite wanting it to be over with after being a completionist towards the end, the finale was definitely great stuff and rewarding.

Anyone who wants a classic PSX era Final Fantasy styled experience should definitely check this one out if you haven't.

Jansen was by far my favorite character. I also played it in Japanese originally, but went through it in English this time and I can say the dub was pretty top notch as well.

The trailer makes it look like playing Mega Man on drugs

 That's a fun description for it! Not sure if you've played Portal, but if you've any interest in environmental puzzlers, you definitely need to check this one out. Only a matter of time before Valve or someone similar picks these guys up.

Company of Heroes PC
Super Mario 3D Land 3DS
Far Cry 3 PC
Mega Man 2 3DS
Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS
Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS
Need for Speed: Most Wanted U WiiU
Mario Kart 7 3DS
Lego City: Undercover WiiU
Injustice: Gods Among Us WiiU

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon 3DS

Another 3DS title and boy was this one just completely fantastic! The game was absolutely filled with charm. I would really consider it more of an easy adventure game than any sort of action game (though the ghost catching was satisfying enough). Really though, the wonderful level design and charm carried the game, which is totally fine! It was actually really refreshing to play a Nintendo IP that's so different from any of their others. Definitely glad they brought it back. Took about 12 hours to get through too and I wasn't exactly being a completionist while playing the game. There's probably a good 20 hours in the game if you want to 100% it.

What I find utterly amazing is that it was done by a small Canadian studio with an only okay track record when it comes to releasing games. They clearly have the talent to do some amazing things with Nintendo behind them though, seeing as they managed to pull something this good off (they also did do the Mario Strikers series, so there's that).

Definitely gets a recommend from me to any 3DS owners, especially those that like adventure games.

You've definitely sold me on it. I just need to find a place that actually has a copy damn it. Guess I could always just order it online. I'm really loving the 3DS right now

I bought Shatterhand a few years ago because the box art was so awful I figured it be nice to add to the collection, if only to laugh at. Boy was I wrong.

Shatterhand contains elements of Contra, Ninja Gaiden, and Batman. Great graphics, great music, great boss battles, great controls, and it provides quite a challenge too. If you're not picking up what I am putting down, I think it's great.

Any reason why Shatterhand has suddenly become so popular? Several people on my Facebook have mentioned it and one of the local game stores also said it's been asked about a lot over the past couple weeks. People that don't even know much about retro games even mentioned it.

All just a really weird coincidence?

Games like Shatterhand and Shadow of the Ninja missed my radar because I was playing the Genesis when they were released. So glad I learned about them.
