I checked the PS Streaming app and it says you can not use the DS4 controller with this app.

I think the major difference here is that there is already an install base of 140M users with X1&DS4 controllers, so people can use this new feature without opting to buy a separate controller. Also as iPads gets more powerful, the iOS games themselves might compete with the Switch sin Nintendo IPs. I do not expect the iPad to run Doom or Dark Souls though.

Were there demand, I doubt it'd be an issue to add DS4 support to the iOS app.

To a fair extent, iOS already competes well with consoles. You already have something like ten times as many people playing Fortnite on iOS than you do on Switch (or installing it anyway). You already have (supposedly) the gaming power of an Xbox One S in the iPad Pro. More dedicated gaming devices still hold on because having physical media and/or cheaply expanded storage can be important, among other things. The Switch is also hefty enough to put a fan in, hook controllers onto, etc. What you aren't likely to see is Apple compromise their design vision for better gaming features, so there'll likely remain that niche for more dedicated hardware. At least for now. Most of their hardware is also a good bit pricier too.

My R4 Gold Pro card came in the mail today. It's kind of sketch (and I just generally don't trust the Chinese when it comes to electronics), but hopefully this will actually work and let me play translated ROMs on my DS!

Remember when those LCD screen picture frames were popular? You would load images to them from your PC via USB. I don't trust anything any more after hearing that there were some from China that would load malware onto our PC.

I just played DMC2 and I was going to complain about it until I learned everything I was going to criticise was common knowledge about the game. There are many parts including boss fights where all you have to do is hold your infinite gun button and wait for the fight to be over.

I like the idea of gigantic bosses being able to be taken down easily though, I used to correlate size with toughness. I learned otherwise with the anaconda in the attic in RE.

Yeah, fortunately, this doesn't connect anything from them to my PC; I load whatever to an SD card and pop the SD card in just like I do with Everdrives. Fortunately, after trying to navigate some moon language menus, I figured out the firmware and have it working! It's fantastic despite being shoddy Chinese quality.

Elkin...what translations are you thinking of playing? I also have an R4, but I have only home brew and SCUMMVM games on it.

I've got a translation for Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem and one for a Rosario+Vampire game on there now. Haven't looked too far into what translations are currently available, though.

Google Stadia is set to be released in working condition this November. I thought this was like a future concept where we might see the earliest beta mid-2021. Although I am doubtful the 4K stream will work, even at 720p this is mind-boggling for someone like me who remembers downloading his first complete movie around the year 2001 in quality lesser than VHS and thinking "The Future is Now".

I am like the director of the original King Kong watching Avengers: Endgame in 4K.

Why--. WHY--! WHY WAS I SO FORSOOK!

I've been playing Mystic Ark: Maboroshi Gekijou, and really enjoying it, despite the jank controls, but it keeps softlocking during the cutscene just before the last fight of the second chapter! Apparently this issue is a known one for emulators, but it seems like it might also be an issue for PS2 backward compatibility. I usually leave them on 'normal,' but I tried changing the disc read, and texture settings, just in case; No luck.

I'm so upset about this. I was really kind of invested in the game. At least I still have the save file, but I'm gonna have to actually get a Japanese PS1 now. Damn!
