Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Interesting interpretation of the acronym.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
When I first played Shenmue back in 2000, I didn't know much Japanese, and I hadn't really played a lot of Genesis "classics" (a lot of what I actually owned for it as a kid were sports games like John Madden Football--possibly of the '92 variety--and Celtics vs Lakers/Bulls vs Trail Blazers). Now, though, I actually get all the references to other games in the capsule toys in Shenmue . A lot of them are references to early Shinobi games--Zeed - Shinobi, Neo Zeed - RoS/Shinobi III, Union Lizard - Shadow Dancer--and are written in English, anyway, but then there are the deeper cuts like "Dezolis Seihyou" which suggests ice being trucked in from Dezolis of the Phantasy Star series, or "Nomoruwa Seiyaku,"--Nomoruwa being the main antagonist of Rent-A-Hero, and "Warumono" (badguy) written backwards. It's kind of interesting to see Alien Soldier locked into Sonic & Knuckles in the tower of power for the Mega Bro capsule toy, also. In some ways, I'm a little afraid that I could be topping out at peak Sega nerd before too long--.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm trying to remember the name of a game which I'm starting to think I might have dreamt up. There's a chance some of what I remember is a bit wrong, but if anyone has any ideas let me know.
Pretty sure it's an NES title, a pac-man style maze game. I think you're a wizard. You grab jewels i think, instead of dots, and they're in 2 colours. There are magic wands or something you grab, and if you have the red one you can grab the red gems and vice versa.
Let me know if that reminds anyone of anything.
