Today's shot is from The Witcher 2.

The Witcher 2 amazingly looks better in its realtime gameplay than most games look in their pre-rendered cutscenes. This is a nice in-game action shot I captured in the harpy-infested caves outside of Vergen. While Geralt casts an Igni flame spell to push back the harpy in front of him, another harpy is swooping in to flank him from the side. The Igni flames light up hot in the middle of these otherwise dark caverns that have a cold glow from shafts of light breaking through from the cave opening above.

^ Very cool! Can't wait to pick this game up. I was waiting for the 360 release and now I'm just waiting for a better price on it.

Here's a shot from Alice: Madness Returns in the Oriental Grove. I think this level rivals even the likes of Okami for looking like an Asian painting.
Alice: Madness Returns is visual feast of a game. Each level is beautifully crafted.

This one is from Portal 2.

There are lots of places like this in Aperture Science underground laboratories and testing chambers.
The area is vast and high tech, yet run down and abandoned.
You can easily imagine the smell of dust and metal in the air.
And you are left with a sense of mystery:
what are these things coming out of the wall? What were they used for?
What happened to all the people here? Is there any way out, or is that opening to the sky just a tease?

I need to play a PC game soon to take some shots.

For the time being, these are the last two screenshots I took while playing a SNES emulator. That kinda counts, right?

Secret of the Stars.

One of the most hilariously awful JRPGS of all time. And yes, nearly all the dialogue is that terrible and everything is in ALL CAPS.
