I have been putting together a list without even knowing about this! I have acquired so many games recently (mostly thanks to the BST here!) that I told myself that i need to beat some before I get more (fat chance!) Anyway I put up a whiteboard with games listed for my fiance and myself to beat, so i guess my list would look like this:

-Shadow of the Colossus
-Shenmue II (debating on actually beating this one since i will just be left with the knowledge that there probably will never be a conclusion)
-Panzer Dragoon Orta (if i dont break the controller first! this game is hard)
-MGS Twin Snakes (GC)
-MGS 2 (ps2)
-MGS 3 (I have beat all 3 of these, the original not twin snakes, and wanted to play them again since its been a while)
-Zelda OOT (gonna pick up the 3ds ramake)
-Super mario world 2, yoshi's island (snes)
-Metroid prime (GC)
-Chrono Trigger (it seems everyone has this on their list somewhere, im not really a fan of RPG's but really want to be (if that makes sense) and I thought this would be a good place to try. Most likely would be played on the DS

3.5 hours into Chrono Trigger - just got part of the Masamune. It is like my 15th playthrough, but the first in a decade. So I can remember many of the layouts and where the enemies I dont like to fight are, but I keep forgetting where to go next. Stupid jerky.

Working on N+ aswell, really gave it the what for last night and got 10 stages down, out of the 50. I hope to finish it next week, but I know the higher levels will piss me off.

yeah I don't know what that is. I'm up to the boss battle in the cave where if you hit that thing when he says "hit me" then he shoots you with water... y'know?

Yup. You are getting closer. I think the next time period you travel to and you'll be caught up, unless I find some time to play later tonight.

Like I said, not my first playthrough. It probably helps I fought dinosaurs before I went there because I forgot the bridge was before dinos (and I fought Spekkio a couple times to get more capsules/tabs).

dsheinem wrote:So I know a few of us are playing Chrono Trigger (all different ports, I think), which is the first game I'm tackling in the challenge. So far I am really appreciating the aesthetics, most fights seem relatively simple (which makes it enjoyable), but the story isn't really clicking with me just yet. I am not sure how much we can talk about this while playing without spoiling (I've never played the game before), but I am about 6.5 hours in and am looking forward to knocking this one off sooner rather than later. :D

How far is everyone? Thoughts?

Just to say, give it some time story wise.

It picks up quite a bit later on. Hell, there's one particular twist that always surprises the hell out of everyone.

I'll be interested to hear what you think overall when you finish the game.

Not a major spoiler I'm sure (only being a few hours in), but once you went into the future... the game instantly won me over there since I'm such a sci-fi nut.

And Zeal is when I fell in love...

7. Banjo Kazooie (N64)

9. Punch Out!! (NES)

I had a bit of trouble rounding out my list - not many of the games I've not beaten are both 'classics' of the system and underplayed by me - so I kinda have a mixture of games I'm half way through anyway, and more cult classics or hidden gems to choose from for game 10. Any suggestions? You can see I was struggling when I chose Punch-Out - kind of a masochist choice. Needless to say, I'm skeptical about beating that one.

Game 10 - Mischeif Makers (N64). Now I have my full list.
