Games Beaten : 2011
Re: Games Beaten : 2011
The Thunder Force Gold collections on the Saturn have no slowdown. Yeah... playing TFIV like that would be suicide, haha.

The First 50 Games of the Year
The Stanley Parable - PC
Age of Zombies - PSMini (PSP)
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All - NDS
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade - Arcade *New
Games Completed: 54
Thoughts on Games:
Now that sound is emulated with Supermodel, this game is a blast, there are a few depth issues here and there but other than that it plays perfectly on my rig, the only problem I found is the duels, which has the mouse vertically inverted and as such very hard to play.

I played this at a place called Lucky Strike earlier this year and had a lot of fun with it.

Jak & Daxter: The Precurson Legacy for PS2 *new* Games like this is why I love 3D Platformers. The controls were spot on and while it was easy, it was a lot of fun. I think these 6th generation platformers will age very well as the camera is excellent and the graphics still look very appealling to me. It's a shame that the sequels to this game felt the need to go all GTA on us.

Wow, I did not expect to love this game so much. It is a rouge like (No saving, you die you start over) game that you can finish it in 20 minutes providing you pick up the right items. It has a Zelda meets SmashTV feel to it and is highly addictive. The key to the game is the more achievements you get, the more stuff becomes unlocked in the game, new bosses, items, etc.
One of the co-creators of Super Meat Boy made it.
Its $5 full price on steam, I highly suggest you guys pick it up if it sounds like your thing.

so my wife and I just got back from Disney World. One night we went to Disney Quest, which is a five floor arcade. Pretty amazing. They had all kinds of things from retro cabs (Galaga galore) to MAME cabs (I set a high score on Tempest on one of them! ) to light gun games like...
Let's Go Jungle! is just begging for a Wii or PSMove port. My wife and I free-played our way through the game, and it was a blast. We were in the jeep-cab setup pictured above. It's a lot like HOTD except you're on a jungle safari and you have to shoot giant bugs. If you ever see this one in the wild, give it a go!

Streets of Rage 2 for Genesis *new* I had no idea beat 'em ups could be so much fun. I had played Final Fight before and found it boring but this game really struck a chord with me. The awesome music and variety of attacks kept me interested throughout the entire thing. One of the best impulse VC buys I've made.

Thanks to the enormous current Megaman X thread I was inspired to finally REALLY try and play these games again and got through the first two. I won't say I love these games, but they're definitely not bad at all and really quick fun stuff. I think it's a good reminder that I still need to check out some of the good GBC Megaman's as well, MMV and the two X games. Really looking forward to those and Zero 3-4 shall be good times.
