Warioware, Inc.: Minigame Mania 3DS VC
Mario Kart 7 3DS
Starfox 64 3D 3DS
Total: 78

Warioware was a fun little game, one of the 3DS Ambassador GBA games. I've played it before, but this is the first time I beat it. I've heard some people moan about the later entries seeming gimmicky with their control schemes and such, but I think that adds some much needed variety to the game - most of the minigames in this one boiled down to 'press A with the correct timing'. That's not exactly a bad thing, it's still great fun, but it certainly kept this series fresh and interesting imo. This is a solid and fun start to the franchise, but more mini games would've been nice.

Mario Kart 7 was a game I went into feeling very uncertain. I disliked the Wii game and from all reports I'd heard, it sounded like this would play very similarly to that. Having played it though, it's one of the better Mario Karts imo, and in terms of physics (especially the weight and turning of the cars) I think it feels more like the Gamecube game or even the N64 one. The weapons have been nicely toned down since the Wii version - I still get screwed over by spiny shells on the last lap, but at least it doesnt happen EVERY DAMN RACE like in the Wii version. Most of the new tracks are great, most of the retro ones were weak choices imo, but overall, a solid game.

Starfox 64 3D is a good port of Lylat Wars, but it doesnt really add much new. I don't like gyro controls for the game. I do like the new graphics and I like the 3D well enough too. I played through the hardest route on my first time through the game which I was happy about as I've never been that way before. Good stuff.

Next Up: Something pout of Mario vs Donkey Kong, F Zero Maximum Velocity, Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton & The Spectre's Curse.

super mario 3D land : the 3DS's first AAA title. enjoyed it tolerably well, but despite the nice use of 3D effects this didn't grab me, especially since the 2nd half consists of way too many speed runs which just completely bored me.

pokemon pearl: had only played through the 1st half earlier this year, but finished it and delved into some of the post game stuff. despite finishing it i still feel the same way as i did before, which is that although it combines almost all of the features the series had presented thus far it really doesn't add much new. i still have hopes for pokemon black/white though.

rampage: mindless early arcade classic. despite its memorable premise, this really doesn't hold up today. repetitive and a quarter muncher without providing any sense of accomplishment.

rampage: total destruction: incredibly lazy port of a modernized adaptation. the single wiimote scheme is pretty much completely broken, and the nunchuk-mode is tiresome. even the original version of this, which appeared on the PS2 and gamecube, is monotonous and tedious.

mario kart DS: decent entry in the series and impressive for its time, but otherwise, again, another nintendo series iteration that just doesn't have much of a wow factor.

Didn't expect to beat another game before year's end. But wow. KOFXII's arcade mode is really easy. I actually 1CC'd it and only used my first character (Athena) to beat the entire game. Never once tried my second or third characters. VERY different than say KOF98 which I found the arcade mode to be extremely hard. My thoughts? Well... I think it looks great. Honestly. I mean I haven't played XIII yet, and I'm sure it blows XII away. But I like XII so far. The exemption of Mai sucks for me. But Athena seems completely awesome in this one. But yeah. Arcade mode is too easy. The CPU never seems to block anything. I'll have to see if I can up the difficulty because I'm sure my opponents on fight night will be much tougher than this. At any rate. I like the game.

EDIT: Ok, just beat it on HARD mode too. Haha.

based on what you wrote earlier, you have two challenge stages and a boss fight to go.

that would be nice, but might be a close call. You know I only beat SEVENTEEN last year? And that was a big deal for me! Haha.
