best/worst (looking) retro console and cartridge....

Post by CHOCOBO77 »

For me the best looking console is the Sega Dreamcast, it was pretty sexy..because of its size and the specs of that machine blew me away...the worst atari jaguar (64 bits my @&&)just look at the back a/v power..i hated the way the cartridge slot was exposed anyways cybermorph, kasumi ninja made me hate that console lol.. can't wait to get some hate mail from atari jag fanatics ..the best cartridge would have to be the NES nuff said..the worst the neo geo aes...when ever you place a cartridge next to your 13" t.v and it covers the Whole screen, or that it's bigger than your head, that's not cool....i bet they where thinking on releasing a laserdisc neo geo ..thank god!...(tell us what are your best/worst that you have owned), or that one console you thought looked amazing when you first got it, but it didn't stand the test of time..for me it was the ps2 (fat)....

Ever since it came out, I always thought the Super Famicom looked really nice. Simple and refined.

Here's another vote for the Super Famicom for both the system and the cartridges for best looker. As far as worst console, I would cast my vote for the Jaguar CD and worst games, I would say those awful 3DO boxes that fall apart and are huge.

Best looking: Genesis/Mega Drive model 1 (the model 1 CD-ROM looks great with it!)
Runner-up: PC Engine Core Grafx (why is there no CD-ROM to match it?)
Bonus Runner-up: Wondermega (not quite as sweet as the MD/CD1 combo, but still amazing)

Worst looking: any Atari 2600 that is not wood grain. That system NEEDS woodgrain!

This is the future! CD-ROMs in a cool black set up with lots of LED lights!

The blue/black combo cannot be beaten.

What the heck? This isn't a 2600!!! I want woodgrain!!!!!!!!
Image

Not the cheapest Sega system available... To bad this wasn't pushed in the US. The model 1 Wondermega beats the heck out of the model 2 (which was released as the X'Eye in the USA, minus the wireless controllers)

I am alone in this view so far, but I always thought the US counterpart was more attractive.

Its hard for me to say whats the best looking, its pretty subjective to me
but a weird thing attracts me towards the White Saturn, its beautiful:

and the American SNES:

maybe because I never had one, whenever I think 90's+cool , this pops into mind

as for the worst, I still can't believe Microsoft + Sony released 360,ps2, and ps3 looking like this.
The PS2 is so ugly I don't think there is a design element to it, just a black box.

But I kind like the slim, its just soooo slim 8)
