Favorite Tech Demos
What are some of your favorite technical demonstrations for game consoles that you have seen? There are some pretty amazing ones out there.

Re: Favorite Tech Demos
I used to follow the N64 demo scene back in the day (I had a Z64 version 1). Two of the best demos I've ever seen were done by a guy called SPLIT! Most commercial games for the console didn't look as good as his demos did, and if you check out "Nacho 64" you'll see he didn't cheat by using fewer objects than an actual game would have"

Before that one, I was amazed by the ATOM demo from Sorcerers. All it does is play a loop from Bomb the Bass over the PC speaker (no sound card!), flash the lights on the keyboard and floppy drive, and flash some colored ASCII text animation up on the screen... but it sure seemed cool for something that ran on an old, crappy PC. I was running it on a 286, but I think it will run on even older gear than that.

Okyeah! "forever and ever you'll be in my heart, aaanndd Iiii will lurrve you" etc. You could run that in any text mode for more detailed text swirlies. Awesome. Then they came out with those realsound dos games where they had actual music and voices through pc speaker.

Re: Favorite Tech Demos
I would love to see someone attempt to make a 3D demo on the Neo-Geo. There has been some homebrew released for it, but very, very little in comparison to other systems.
