It's not incredibly valuable, but I really like that I actually found it in the wild in 1997 when they were a little harder to come across than they are now. It was at a weird little store in or near Washingtonville, NY called "What's Hot" that, at the time, mostly sold yo-yos.

I dont remember yo-yo's being "hot" in 1997, lol.

Oh yeah. They went through a brief bout of popularity around 1997-2000 (my dates are surely not exact). They weren't the hottest thing ever, but at the time a lot of people were spending decent money on high-quality yo-yos and parts.

*EDIT* Actually, now that I recall, yo-yos were pretty popular at least a few years earlier than 1997.

At first I didn't think I had one as I'm not too concerned about impressing anyone with my collection, but I think this oddity qualifies:

Motion Controls from 1983!

Note: I got the pic from an images search, but I assure you my board is as mint as a twenty-seven year old peripheral can be since there was only one game that was designed with it in mind and that game sucked!

What is your "status piece"?

Which model V-Saturn do you have? 1 or 2?

I've got one of those joyboards too. Have you ever used it? I'm a little afraid I'd break it.

Probably my SuperGrafx. I am its first owner, and probably its last unless my unborn kids want to inherit my systems.

My old favorite was a Hitachi Saturn, but I sold it since I like my Skeleton Saturn better.

Did you get your Super Grafx when it was first released?

For Saturns, I prefer the original grey one.

Here is my original Japanese Game Boy. It was bought new by my wife, so it's not second hand at all. The box is a bit beat up, but oh well!

My Mega Drive 2, and my original copies of Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic 2.

They aren't rare or anything, but they are the first 2 video games I ever owned.

I bought a Sonic 2 copy from ebay, in much better condition than my copy (I bought it used 14 years ago) but I just can't get rid of my first games. Same with the Mega Drive. I've given away a GameBoy, a GBcolor a GBA a Gamecube a PS2 fat a DS fat, but I can never give away my Mega Drive.

Also my copy of Super Mario Land 2 in its box in mint condition. Was super lucky to find one in 2004, 12 years after release, and there's no way in hell I'm ever letting anyone even touch it
