Are there any FPSs in which you aren't a floating head?

Okay, this might sound incredibly stupid, but this is the internet, it's the proper place to ask stupid questions (but maybe I should try Yahoo! Answers first).

One thing that has always bothered me on first person games is that you look down and you can't see the body of your character. I mean, am I a floating head with hands?

I know I can see Faith's body when you look down in Mirror's Edge, and I thought that was nice, but I can't think of other first-person games (not shooters specifically, I just put FPSs on the title because I ran out of space) where you can see the rest of your character.

Granted, I'm not the world's greatest conoisseur of first-person shooters (I generally don't play them and when I do I'm terrible), but I would think that there would have to be some in which you're not a head hovering about. I feel like Zordon.

In FEAR you can see your legs if you look down. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. The main reason for not doing this in most games is that it doesn't really add much to the experience and is extra resources to manage (not to mention getting the animation right so it doesn't look horrible).

Well, usually the camera doesn't pan down far enough to see if you have a body. But I will say that I did notice the "floating head and hands phenomena" in Bioshock, and that it kinda bothered me.

It also really bothered me in Timesplitters (PS2) when you could not even see your hand holding the gun. So the gun seemed to be floating around in mid-air! I hated that

In most modern FPS's, your character usually does cast a full body shadow though.

Also, in Duke Nukem 3D you could look into a mirror and see Duke.

Gundam 0079 Side Story for the DC - first person shooting but it does a great job of simulating the fact that your character is supposed to be a person inside a cockpit within the robots torso.

You even have to pay attention to the rotation of the robots torso as your move in different directions.

I'm quite certain that the Chronicles of Riddick games let you see your feet as you ran around. Nothing else comes to mind.

Halo is the oldest game that I can think of that does that. I always thought it was kinda silly, but it is a nice touch.

Yeah, I remember playing halo and being thoroughly unimpressed until I looked down and actually saw my feet.

Can you see your character in Halo? That's surprising, given that you can't in most multimillion dollar releases nowadays. Really bizarre how developers spend years and ridiculous amounts of money making sure their game is gritty and realistic, but can't be bothered to make their characters bodies visible.

Gameplay-wise, it probably doesn't add much, but it's a nice touch, and adds a layer of realism, right? It seems to be all the developers are going for in these military shooters.

You can look straight down in most games and still see nothing.

As for the mirror's in Duke Nukem, I think most games with mirrors show your character when you walk in front of them. But it's all a illusion, because you're a head on a hoverboard.

Can't you see your own legs in Portal?
