Videogame museum.

Post by Jrecee »

We need one. In the U.S. It could be an all in one video game center.

Museum on the first floor.
Retro/Modern game shop on the second.
Arcade on the 3rd.

They're working on it.

I was down there and they're trying to get a dedicated building for it. They're just having trouble deciding where to put it as it floods a lot in Ottumwa.

I vote Museum on first floor, game shop on second, and arcade in a naturally dark, artificially lit basement.

If you are building a museum in a flood prone area, make the first floor all concrete (very thick), with some kind of intro room/hall thingy and put everything worth a shit at least 10 ft above ground level, if not more. Make the structure compartmentalized like we do on the ships so it wont sink if it floods like in Noah's days. That way wherever it lands, it can reopen in short order.

This has actually been something I've wanted to do for years. I remember back even before the Xbox was out, I was telling people that "I want to make a video game museum"

I think some members here already have a museum in their own house.
As long as we don't get to the point like that VCR collector guy.

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing!

In place of a museum I'd also be okay with an ultra comprehensive arcade with scores of games from every era for us to enjoy at reasonable prices.
