Going through deleting inactive accounts of mine as a security precaution. No hard feelings, but admins, if it is possible to delete this account, please do so. Thanks in advance!

Re: Help on finding a good CRT TV
While it may not help you play all your retro games, 18 bucks isn't a bad price for Spirit Tracks. I heard it was a pretty fun game, and considering most Nintendo published games for DS always cost 35 dollars and never go down in price...

From my knowledge, Sony almost hit perfection with their Trinitron WEGA HD CRT's

A beautiful widescreen HDTV. If Retro gaming its better to get the 4:3 version, reviewed at my CRT vs LCD signature link.Weekend_Warrior wrote:From my knowledge, Sony almost hit perfection with their Trinitron WEGA HD CRT's

Re: Help on finding a good CRT TV
I do most of my gaming on this television:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-WEGA-KV-27FS ... 094&sr=1-5
I got it on craigslist for $75 just minutes down the road from my apartment. It works great, I've got Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Wii all simultaneously hooked to different inputs, and RF cables readily available for NES, SNES and PS1. When I take the XBOX out of the bedroom I can just plug it in the front A/V input where the Dreamcast usually is.
You can edit labels for channels so I made Ch. 3 "SEGA" & since I have the Saturn in the S-Video input, it says "SAT"
& the Nintendo 64 input says "GAME"
Next to that I have my TATE television which is one of these. A friend of mine needed to get rid of it so I gladly took it off his hands. Extra Wii and Sega Saturn A/V cables come in handy so I don't have to disconnect them from the back of my main television, and the Dreamcast A/V cables are easily transferred.
I'd recommend both of these TVs. They serve me well and since I play mostly old games the picture quality is great and the lightgun games work perfectly.

Are there any other recommendations other than Sony brand? I'm looking for a good CRT for gaming as well. Saw a APEX with an S-Video for a good price but not sure if it's worth getting.
NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER!

Any CRT that you personally like after testing. Your eyes is the best judge.Ngamer wrote:Are there any other recommendations other than Sony brand? I'm looking for a good CRT for gaming as well. Saw a APEX with an S-Video for a good price but not sure if it's worth getting.
Maybe bring a console you plan on using for a test run before purchase.
Anyone notice CRTs can no longer be bought anywhere?
FRYS, Best Buy and even Walmart budget line, no more CRTs!
Getting rare, only available in the used market.
