1) Hmm last time i rented was back in the 16bit era in around 1990 when games cost as much as they do today. I remember getting totally hooked on Warsong that i rented it many a weekend untill i bought it from the retal shop.
2) I suppose It would be space invaders on the 2600 it was the first console i had as a nipper but i had no games for it only the built in game, untill i got a speccy +2 a couple of years later.
Recently ild say Eve Online which i played for well over a year. Good times but too addicting. Single player would be 2-3 months i spent to 1CC the 1st loop of Dodonpachi
3) In the past it was the other way around with many games i never got back, nowadays i dont lend out nothing but that didnt stop me from losing all the stuff ild built up over the years to a break in
