We had a really good halloween thread last year where Ack reviewed a different survival horror game every day in October.

I'll actually probably add a few arcade games via MAME to play for short bursts here and there as well, but haven't gone through that list just yet. All of these are games I haven't ever beat, some are games I've never played.

Anyway, what games do you plan to play to celebrate the MONTH OF HORROR?

I think the original arcade version of Splatterhouse runs on MAME, so I'd suggest giving that a play if you haven't already.

I might need to bust out some "obscure" horror game, like Call of Cthulhu or Illbleed, something I've been wanting to play for awhile but been putting off. Tho I'm going to wait til it's closer to Halloween I think.

Aww man, I had forgotten about call of Cthulhu. I still need to pick up a copy. Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube is another that I would like to find.

Anyone have any thoughts on System Shock?

You should absolutely play Silent Hill 2, it's easily the best non arcadey game on your list imo.

I'll be slowly continuing to work my way through Heavy Rain. I guess that's haloweeny enough. For some reason I just haven't been able to have a play session long than about 30 minutes with that game :/. I bought Silent Hill on psn not long ago so I may give that a shot.

The only issue with what games I will be playing is that October is also going to have two major releases(at least for me) Fallout and Kirby- so when I'm not playing those- I always watch a different horror movie or show at night for every day of October...so time will be short

Awesome thread! I have a few titles in mind, I may come up with more as the month goes on. I'll update my status on these games throughout the month, and may actually add a few more that I beat on MAME or something.

Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti - NES - I picked this up a few weeks ago but didn't finish it yet. It's actually a bit harder than I thought it would be!

Splatterhouse - TG16 - Another hard game IMO, but I'll try to finish it!

Dead Space: Extraction - Wii - Another game that I bought last year but never actually finished. I really liked this game, so beating it shouldn't be a problem.

Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun - NES - I picked up this Kid Dracula game a few weeks ago. Excited to try to finish it!

Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge - Saturn - The quintessential Halloween fighter.

Typing of the Dead - Dreamcast - I WILL finally beat this. Can't believe how hard it gets!
