Advise me retro fighting game with pixel graphics

Post by salt_and_pepper »

I need something retro to amuse my heart. I've already forgotten about fighting games, cause haven't played them for a very long time.
So, are there any games of the genre with pixel graphics you like?
I prefer games about zombies and aliens - but if you know other good apps - you're welcome!
Thank's in advance!

For high quality retro pixelated fighters it's best to start with the classics and then branch out.

Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting
Samurai Shodown
King of Fighters 98
Garou Mark of the Wolves
Marvel vs Capcom 2

While I think you can hold off on Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Garou immediately, yeah, strangenova is right. If you want retro 2D fighters, start with the major names and releases. See if this gives you a taste of what you're looking for, and then start whittling down based on what you like. You might end up preferring the simplicity of World Heroes, the pacing of The Last Blade, or the strange characters of Power Instinct, but these are things to branch out into once you've got a baseline established.

There are a ton of high quality 2d fighting out there. To meet you criteria of zombies or aliens I would recommend waku waku 7 on the neo geo. A colorful whacky casts of oddball characters. It is a lot of fun!

I would also recommend the darkstalkers series. Horror monster characters duking it out. You can not get better than that series and it is crying for a new entry.

I also highly recommend samurai shodown 2 on the neo geo and on a huge variety of compilations.

I always loved the real bout fatal fury series on sega saturn.

Capcom vs. Snk 2 is probably the greatest fighting game of all time and that needs to be played if your into fighters.

and Street Fighter Alpha 3 is a given here.

Also...why do bots make accounts and post, what is their endgame? I have seen it a few times on this forum and don't really get the why behind it.

Eventually, they start posting a lot about movies. The endgame, I think, is to raise $1500, move to New York City, break into film, and meet a nice man.

I'm from NYC, $1500 is not nearly enough, unless of course you meet a nice rich man.
