Something odd about the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series
Something odd about the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series
Anyone notice that it's kinda strange that the GameCube got Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and Code Veronica X and then the PS2 gets Silent Hill 2, 3, 4, and Origins?
It's kinda like Konami and Capcom decided to compete their series' on two different systems.
...I thought it was kinda weird...
It probably just had to do with the game contracts Konami and Capcom had with Sony and Nintendo...

I always imagined Capcom and Konami to have a friendly rivalry.

Capcom and Konami hang out and drink beer. And sometimes they invite me. It's awesome.

Each series is great for its own reasons, so I wouldn't see a big rivalry there.

Re: Something odd about the Resident Evil and Silent Hill series
only RE: 0 and 1 (remake) are missing from the Sony collection
the rest are already available on the PSX and 2, 3, and Veronica X are not remakes (if I've been informed correctly) for the Gamecube
:edit
Veronica X is available on PS2 IIRC
also RE: 4

Don't get me started on the name "Silent Hill 8".
I don't even know where the RE series is at now... Man, I miss zombies...

You are correct. I own RE2 and 3 on the gamecube and they're simply ports of the psx versions. Very good ports that are better than the original even but ports none theless.
I've played the GC Code Veronica and it is a port of the ps2 version. Worth nothing that the DC, PS2, and Gamecube versions all have different intro movies.
Silent Hill has been dead since 4. Same goes for Resident Evil.
