Good retro podcasts?

hey guys, I just finished a binge of listening to all 14 episodes of the Racketboy podcast. Now I'm wondering what other quality retro podcasts are out there to occupy my commute. I've perused the podcast at hg101 -- but often they're just like 3 hour round table discussions. God bless hg101, haha. But I really like how focused the Racket-cast is, and am looking for something closer to 1/2-hour to an hour in length. Who likes what now?

A Life Well Wasted is also interview based and fairly different, you might like it.

I am not a fan of shows where people sit around and talk amongst themselves about games and giggle at inside jokes and bots of nostalgia - which is unfortunately what too many retro podcasts are (including a few of the popular ones).

Retronauts is great. I find RetroforceGo to be super annoying.

this is exactly what I'm trying to avoid.

I've listened to probably 20-30 episodes of Retronauts because I can usually find one cool show every 7 or 8 episodes. These are usually the shows with guests. I always feel like the regular crew are constantly trying to one-up each other in obscure references/knowledge and often leave the audience behind. It is telling that they often joke about how disorganized they are...

One of the reasons I wanted to create the RB podcast is because I wanted something that was more of an NPR-style interview crossed with something like G4's Icons. I don't think I've accomplished that goal entirely (at least not yet), but it is what I'd like to see the show become. Gaming is serious business, don't you know.

Yep away from your goal for sure dsheinem. You need a jazz artist to make it like NPR.

All Things Considered often uses the opening to a track from Thurston Moore's TREES OUTSIDE THE ACADEMY... just saying.

Retronauts, like others have said, is pretty good. Just make sure to pick and choose.

Destructoid has Bit Transmission which, while not exclusively retro, has a lot of nostalgia for the classic things in gaming.
