I agree as I am in the shmups thing too. There's a break in that competition from the 7-13th of September. So maybe we could plan on Friday September 10th - Saturday September 11th? Would that day work for anyone else? We wouldn't all have to start at exactly the same time on Friday...

I would've considered this, but i have about 5 games i havent played much of, and most of them are crap or uninteresting (rise of the robots, FIFA 95 etc). I think the main thing people are being dissuaded by is the 24 hour thing myself. No time to eat, sleep or go to the toilet sounds pretty harsh.

I am up for modifying the idea if it will get more people involved. Maybe 12 hours X 50 games? Maybe 10 hours X 40 games? If these times might get more people involved I'd be all for it. We could always do another marathon or two if people like it and still accomplish the same goal as one 24 hour marathon. I'll post a poll and see what people would be on board for...

Also, I edited my game list above for a 24 hour marathon. I'd be happy to whittle it down and do a smaller marathon...

So there seems to be some slight interest. How about we pick a day to commit to a 6 hour marathon, and anyone who wants to go further can keep going?

Would the evening of Friday, September 10th work for enough people? We don't necessarily have to do it simultaneously...

Wait, if you get more people to do this, is everyone doing the same set of games? Or are we all doing whatever games we have that we haven't played?

I have a few games that I've never played for more than a couple of minutes to test, depending on when you do this, I might be in.

I was able to find 25 games I've never really played. I could probably do a lot more through emulation, but I can only emulate NES, because I don't have a USB gamepad, and I can emulate NES through the Dreamcast.
