A nomination for the Nintendo 64:

Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey.

That game was easy to pick up and play, fun as hell, and the checking & fighting mechanics basically turned the game into Mortal Kombat On Ice - we were just as focused on beating the crap out of each other as scoring. The only thing that could have made it better would be to give Mark Messier forearm blades and a decapitation move.

The most fun N64 sports game in my opinion.
Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Super Gameboy adapter, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis model 1, Playstation 1, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo DS Lite

Baseball Stars (NES) is easily number one. If you count it at a sports game, Kirby's Dream Course probably comes in second.

World Cup times, I have to stand up for soccer:

- International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (SNES, MD, PS1);
- Nintendo World Cup (NES, GB);
- Sensible Soccer (every platform on the planet);
- Sega Soccer Slam (PS2, OXbox, 360, GC);
- Elifoot 98 (football manager) (PC);
- Championship Manager 94 (as the name says...) (PC, Amiga);
- Mega Man Soccer (yes, I did find it fun) (SNES);
- Super Mario Strikers (GC);
- Kick Off 2 (several).
