Well that took about for fucking ever. This wasn't easy, and it took an ass load of leveling up to beat Dracula, whose patterns aren't hard to learn, but his attacks are devastating. Now I can finally move on to another game. I think I beat the game right around the 12 hour mark, which sounds about right for the new installments in Castlevania games.

Fun game, silly ending, but you get unlockables too.

TOTAL: 102

I was on track for something close to 120 games finished by the end of the year, but I think I'm starting to grind to a halt. I've spent a lot of time playing Fallout 3 right now, and am just about at level 10. I just finished Operation Anchorage, am one quest away from finishing the Wasteland Survival Guide, and just made it to Three Dog to ask about pops. Sunk a ton of hours into it already! I'm also playing Phoenix Wright on my iPhone, but at a pretty leisurely pace. I just started the Steel Samurai case, and I'm really not sure how far into it I am at this point.

Scott Pilgrim is probably my favorite beat 'em up of all time. I managed to max out Scott's stats before beating the game, and when the DLC hits I may play through again as Knives.

Donkey Kong '94 is hidden gem in the truest sense. Sure, people that frequent a place like this may have already known about it, but your average gamer probably has no idea just how good this game is. Forget everything you know about Donkey Kong and PLAY THIS GAME. It is one of the most entertaining platformers I've ever played!

Total: 78

Resistance Retribution and God of War: Ghost of Sparta are easily two of the best portable games I've ever played and are amongst the best titles available for the PSP. Both really squeeze a lot of gameplay (around 8-10 hours or so each in length) into a little UMD, look gorgeous, tell an engaging story, and control quite well given the PSP's limited scheme. I know the PSP doesn't get much love around here, but these are two of the best action games of the past couple years on ANY platform. The last battle in Sparta is one of the more memorable in the series, which is really saying something...

Quiz & Dragons was an odd mix of an RPG (of sorts) and a Quiz game. Much of the trivia I actually knew (stuff about literature, history, movies, and sports especially), but some of it caught me off guard (70s/80s TV, outdated answers, etc.). Still, it was a nice way to kill a few hours one morning.

agreed. I absolutely LOVE how they start the game with the original DK levels. I can only imagine it totally shocked people when those 4 ended and suddenly you were presented with this gigantic and brilliant game of 100 levels. So awesome.

OMG when I had my PSP I use to kill time on this all the time! Though yeah, it can be beat way too quickly. Anyway, super unique.

1. Phantasy Star (GBA)
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall Of The Foot Clan (GB)
3. Super Mario Bros. 2 (GBA)
4. OutRun (GBA)
5. Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival (GBA)
6. Mortal Kombat II (GB)
7. Viper Phase I (arcade)
8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time (SNES)
9. Godzilla: Domination (GBA)
10. Iridion II (GBA)
11. Scooby-Doo! Classic Creep Capers (GBC)
12. Trax (GB)
13. Super Mario World (GBA)
14. Super Puzzle Fighter II

^still my favorite puzzle game. When I say I "beat" it, I'm referring to the Arcade Mode, which I've beat at least 3 times in the past. But yeah... I love this game. Never tire of it. It's just so perfect. I always use Chun-Li, only because that's who I always use in Street Fighter II. 8)

two. My wife and I beat it co-op. The only game I didn't beat alone this year. Which she reminds me of every time I update this list.

Why do you ask my friend? :)
