Yeah. I had to beat it again immediately after the doc smiled at me while juggling the one emerald I failed to get.

TOTAL: 56

After beating ClayFighter the other day, I figured I'd give the rest of the series on the SNES a whirl. After having played games like Brutal: Paws of Fury and Ballz 3D, ClayFighter wasn't so bad, and Tournament Edition felt like a further improvement. It wasn't exactly fluid, but the frame rate seemed improved, the controls felt a little better, and the fights were a bit better balanced. I was considering another play through on the highest difficulty, but decided against it.

And then I played the sequel. It's a horrid mess of a game when compared to Tournament Edition. The frame rate has been reduced, the cast has undergone massive changes, and those few returning characters look vastly different from their previous incarnations. Interplay decided to cut every character's arsenal of special moves to about half of its former glory and then change the controls for most of those remaining moves. To make up for it, they then tried to throw in a whole lot of 'tude, which falls flat on its face when you discover that fighters include a baby with a mace and a killer banana. I swear, if I see Bad Mr. Frosty shout "Icepack" while rotating his baseball cap to the side again, I'll scream. Oh, and for a reference to how much his controls were changed, of 8 special moves in Tournament Edition, he gets 3 in C2, and only 1 of them has its original command to pull off.

TOTAL: 112

Played through Sonic 4 on XBLA this morning. It's leaps and bounds above the iPhone version, but I think that probably goes without saying. The change in physics from the original Sonic games is a bit deterring, but I really don't think this game is nearly as bad as some have made it out to be. I had a lot of fun with it, and I'll definitely play it again in the future.

Mighty Jill-Off was AWESOME. Took me just over 12 minutes to finish, and I died three or four times during my play through. The cut-scenes in this game are strangely amusing; surprisingly, its somewhat refreshing to see such content matter in this medium.

Well, I broke the 110 games mark this year, with a few days left to spare. I recently picked up COD: Black Ops, Fable III, and Fallout: New Vegas, but I don't see myself finishing any of those before the new year, especially since I still have to finish the Point Lookout and The Pitt DLC packs for Fallout 3 before I move on to any of those.

I may try to play through Sonic 2, 3 and S&K soon though.

*Edit: Forgot to add that I played through Halo 2600 while listening to the new Racketboy Podcast with Ed Fries. It got pretty crazy towards the end... I beat the boss with no shield and no lives left!

First 50 Games here!

    Braid (PSN)
    Sonic Chaos (Game Gear)
    Sonic Triple Trouble (Game Gear)
    Mega Man 5 (NES)
    Mega Man 3 (NES)
    Uno (PSN)
Left 4 Dead 2 (PC Download)
    Super Meat Boy (PC Download)
And Yet it Moves (PC Download)

    *New*Motorstorm (PS3)
This has been a long time coming. Over a year to be exact. God damn does this game get hard. Frustratingly hard. The AI rubber band to you so much and at some point they stop trying to win but rather just start trying to make you lose (ie, they purposfully drive to there death to kill you too). The second half of the game is so unfair. First half is great fun though. Still, its really satisfying to say I got first on all the races.

Total count: 60

Amazed I hit 60. Fun fact, this year alone I have completed more games then I ever have in my life. Up next Im going to try and polish the last few hours of Final Fantasy II, which has been a struggle, because I am not an RPG kinda guy (unless its of the explosive variety).

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

After all the talk about Halo 2600 I had to give it a shot, I am sure it took me more goes than everyone here, I got game over 4 times before finally beating the boss. Was very enjoyable. I then used a save state (for the first time) so I can play it through again later on Legendary.

Total: 76

I reached my goal! I am in the Castle in OOT, so I might be able to get to 76 before the end of the year, might spam my way to 80 so its a nice rounded number.

EDIT: Finally after first playing the game over 10 year ago I have finished OOT, I dont think it is the masterpiece everyone else seems to the think it is (It is one of my least fav in the series), but a solid game none the less. A massive one to knock off my 'games to beat' list.

Total: 93

Aliens vs. Predator is a lot better than I thought it would be after seeing it get slammed in reviews. Each of the three campaigns are unique, interesting, and just long enough to leave you wanting more. I would love to see a direct sequel, but alas that probably won't happen because I don't think this sold well.

SMB and X-Men are certainly some of the shorter games on my list (I used warps in Mario), but both are well deserving of their accolades. Besides, I have to include some shorter ones on here in the next week or so if I am going to get to my goal of 100...

I also am down to only 3 consoles that I want to beat a game for to reach my goal of one game or more beaten per console owned. I still have left the N64, 7800, and PCE-CD. I have plans for the first two and could go with a shmup for the PCE-CD - but does anyone have a good recommendation for a PCE-CD game that I should beat that isn't a shmup?

I don't own a GBC, so it isn't a priority. For that matter, I don't own a GBA or GB either - I played those titles on the GBA Player and an emulator, respectively. I will play one more GBA game this year though...
