Podcast Questions for You, Podcast Questions for Us!
Re: Podcast Questions for You, Podcast Questions for Us!
Super Mario Allstars is a pretty good answer, but what about Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World?
But seriously, even though I don't have much reason to own it (as I'd rather own the original carts), Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection has to rank highly as far as retro compilations go. It actually comes fairly close to living up to its title, and even manages to include a handful of great arcade and Master System games to boot!

Whoops I meant that. Lee dreamcast collection appears to be good, I never tried it.

I have a pair (or a few)
Konami Arcade Advanced - GBA
This early release has 6 well-known Konami titles on it, and not only are they perfectly suited for portable play, entering the famous "Konami" code gives each game its own UNIQUE enhancement ranging from slight graphical changes to extra stages and extra lives.
Taito Legends 1 & 2
In my opinion, still two of the most well-ported & well-designed compilations. The menus are colorful and easy to access, there are many different types of games included in each one, the options are fully customizable using actual dip-switch settings (difficulty, lives & more), the bonus material is nice with flyers & interviews, and the games themselves look really good and 100% arcade perfect.
I collect many of these compilations and these I'd say deserve a good mention on the next program.

I tweeted mine:
Sonic's Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection (as noted - Master System games + unlockable other titles)
SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1 - a staple as far as compilations go
