Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 Announced

Sega has announced a Mega Drive 2 mini console. AFAIK, they've only announced the Mega Drive version for Japan but I think it's safe to assume other regions will be getting it as well. It's a mini version of the model 2 Mega Drive. And I've heard that you can even buy an add on for it that includes a model 2 Mega CD (with a Sonic CD disc inside), a 32X and a Virtua Racing cart. Sega said 50 games will be included, but they've only revealed some of them so far. But awesomely, it will include Mega CD games in addition to Mega Drive games!

so far the games announced are good. Not sure if we really need a mini 2 but it's coming which is good for collectors out there.

These are some decent titles announced here, but I wouldn't call any of them truly essential for a Genesis library. Sega's going to have to up their game, especially since this unit will probably be more expensive (supply line and component issues). The next titles they announce are going to be key.

I think this is a really cool mini, but I have to admit I barely play my other minis and I already have most of the games announced for it. It's got some great games though! I love Shining Force CD, Popful Mail, and Thunder Force IV and those games are all pretty pricey for legit copies! Also I like that Mansion of Hidden Souls is included; that game isn't really all that great, but I have a soft spot for it.
