Keith Robinson, the leader of the game development team at Mattel Electronics who purchased the rights to the Intellivision and resurrected the game console in the late 1980s, died from kidney failure Wednesday. Keith remained dedicated to the Intellivison brand throughout the 1990s and beyond, keeping the flame alive by releasing Intellivision Lives! for contemporary consoles and the Intellivision Flashback, a plug and play console featuring many of the original system's best games.

Re: Keith Robinson has passed away
Outside of being a pioneer of early game development, Keith was an unsung hero of the retro gaming community. His work protecting the legacy of the Blue Sky Rangers kept the Intellivision from becoming just another obscure footnote in gaming history. He seemed like a really great guy and my thoughts go out to his loved ones.

Re: Keith Robinson has passed away
He signed my Intellevision flashback box at classic gaming expo and even drew me a little picture. He was a pretty smart guy and had a great sense of humor at the panel he was on. Very sad, he went too soon.

This is horrible!
Haven't heard the news until now. What a shame, he was such a great man.
