I saw some stuff on this cord recently - i want a couple!

The demonstrated results I saw from youtube reviews are only useful on real-time-rendered 640x480 and above and are geared toward that - I think I will still have problems with interlaced stuff, tho another contender in the mix is always fun. The results on snes/genesis era stuff were completely undesirable - do not put any pixel art through it. That said, I'm preparing to adjust some of my old tween to ps3/360 consoles to have a hard switch between that this cable and the matrix raw result. It's actually good at what it does. Price worth it just discounted. Me? Waiting on it, still don't own an ossc.

That is what I am gathering as well. It has a very limited use case and just isn't worth it at that price point.

Hey! Just found this thread. I got an OSSC back around April and have used it just a few times. Luckily my TV accepts 3X and 5X modes. It's a 2009 Samsung from the Touch of Color series. Below are a couple photos i took of Sonic 2 running on a Sega CDX using a SCART cable connected to an OSSC in Line Triple (3X, 720P) Mode. TV is a Samsung LN40B650..

What settings are you using? I have a touch of color as well and am not having any luck with anything about 2x. Thanks!

Noice! Still haven't been around to snipe one, tho I can easily see that this is what I want.

High level question:
So is it safe to say the Framemeister is going to be compatible with more TVS as it upscaling to HD versus just line doubling.

Seems to be a bit of less hassle with XRGB as you can readily DL the profiles as well.

Right for the most part? The more I look at the OSSC, seems the less it is for me.

480p output from the OSSC works on most TVs. 720p and up is a complete crapshoot unless you are using a computer monitor.

The Framemeister is most certainly going to give you 720p+ capability on almost any HDTV. The tradeoff is lag, longer time resyncing between different input resolutions, and added expense.

So are there any reasonable solutions for S-Video out there that are lag-free? I've got a cheapy Blackweb converter that's okay, but I'd certainly love it if there were something that wasn't as pricey as the Framemeister.

XRGB-3 would probably work but it is not exactly cheap unless you get a good deal on a used one. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

That's what I was afraid of. I'll keep my eye out, though.
