To anyone following, getting closer and some interesting development here for possible WiFi module

1/16/18 Post
I've just been testing everything I'd not tested before on the current PCB as a final check before getting new boards made. Handy I did, as I've just found the UART connections meant I couldn't send data back to the Jaguar, only receive. But I have data being received over UART now, which is cool. I have a few more things to test, like I2S, INT1 interrupts and JTAG, then I'm done.

I've also made provision for an SPI WIFI module (ESP-12E) as well...

There really isn't that much more to check, but my ever shit health is really slowing me down currently.

SainT on WiFi connectivity:
1/20/18 Post
Things like...

FTP to copy games over to the SD card wirelessly
Serial to IP, so you could play modem games over the internet (possibly!)
Remote debugging for devs
General internet access from Jaguar software (direct access to download games over the internet for example)

You could even get it to communicate with the Amazon Echo service... lol. :)

"Jaguar. Play some shitty games."

This is officially on order. Already in 600s!

SainT, when orders open up will the Jag SD show on the new.retrohq.co.uk shop?

Yes. If you’ve registered an account on there, and set your mailing preferences to new products, you’ll be emailed when it’s ready for sale!

Pricing
On 8/14/2019 at 4:23 PM, SainT said:
£140 UKP + postage. Hope it's not too steep for people, there's been rather a lot of work gone into this, and the SLS shell alone is reassuringly expensive! I may offer a board only option at £120 UKP if people are interested, although not for this first batch.

I was preorder #44, so mine's already on the way. It shipped this past Saturday, so hopefully it'll be here this weekend or early next week depending on how long it takes to get from Britain to North Carolina.

Let us know how it goes!

I expect the homebrew scene to explode even more. That'll be fun to see.

Yep, got my order in 2 hours after it went live.
I think it said I was #379, so it'll be a few weeks for me at the very least.
But then one of the comments on the feed said they were like 500-something (posted before my order) so who knows?

But hey, I'm getting one, that's the important thing.

Really hoping the CD function pans out. But ought to be a worthy purchase as-is.

That's awesome!

I just saw CJ over at AA polling to see if he was going to move homebrew games to 6MB (vs the earlier skunkboard at 4MB). He's a big leader in the Jaguar homebrew scene so that tells me it's going to get big dev support. He's already done a TON of Atari ST ports stickied over on AA.

I'd pick up an Atari ST mouse if I were yall. I could see that catching on more & more. Some games, even outside of the ST ports, already support it.

I didn't realize Jaguar CD functionality wasn't finalized yet. At least you can load up the cart version of Iron Soldier 2. Battlemorph always looked interesting to me. World Tour Racing & Hover Strike UL worth a shot. Outside of those, not a huge draw for commercial but I'd love it for homebrew.

You guys will have to test out the Checkered Flag steering patch & let me know how it plays. I
Supposedly drastically helps the gameplay.

Exciting time. Keep us all updated.

Honestly one of the reasons I'm most excited for it is to play Rayman. With my underdog-system fetish, that's the version I've always wanted to play despite having easy access to it on other platforms. But yeah, the homebrew scene should be dope.
