There's loads of covers on Youtube, think I've heard better somewhere but the above link is pretty rad.

Obviously do whatever you feel is right. Or make a hack that gives the player the choice of ambient orchestrated or heavy metal remix :o

The thing is, the audio files are totally customizable. If the user wants to replace the soundtrack of an MSU-1-enhanced game with, say, Weird Al's "Weasel Stomping Day", all they have to do is convert the desired track to signed, 16-bit little-endian 44.1kHz .WAV and run it through the wav2msu program. Now, looping the track is a bit more difficult, but still not terribly hard.

Uh, isn't most of the Super Metroid OST ambient music? I can't imagine that would translate well into heavy metal.

Oh there is some rather wonderfully atmospheric metal out there.

Eeeeeuuuuughhhh. I kinda...hate that. A lot. Again, I'm not a huge Metroid fan, but this just seems wrong for Super Metroid. That being said, it's a totally subjective thing, and the information on how to do it yourself has been released, so if that's what you're going for, great.

As for me, if and when we get Metroid MSU'd, I'll be using the orchestral stuff. The weird thing is, I'm actually a huge metal fan normally. But to my way of thinking, Metaltroid just doesn't work.
