Theseus had a ship and over the years every plank of wood was replaced and the question was the ship still the original ship and if not at what point did it become not the original ship. And that is my question about the Analogue NT, it's not like their CMVS which is an actual MV1C motherboard in a wooden enclosure. The NT is a brand new motherboard with a couple chips harvested from old famicoms, does that make it a glorified clone system or is it still an NES?

It's just a motherboard.

If they were using newly fabricated chips, I would agree it's a different system. (then again, clone has a specific meaning with retro consoles, so I wouldn't call those the same either)

If the chips were adequately redeveloped, I could see NES becoming more like a specification.

I thought it looked interesting, so I pre-ordered. But, the release date keeps getting pushed back. Ugh.
