Gramme is the french word for "gram" (weight unit), but I don't think that is why it is in the name. Telegram in french is telegramme, so it may be they borrowed from that to make a new word (actually infogram is an actual word, so...)
The lack of the 2nd m messes most of these up though.

Wikipedia has it - They used a mix-and-match computer program to suggest names, one of which was "Infogramme": a portmanteau of the French words "informatique" (information technology) and "programme" (a computer program). The final choice, "Infogrames", was a slightly modified version of that suggestion.
