Dat edit

Yeah, I just don't find rarity for rarity sake to worth spending on. But it's not my money and I'm sure some will greatly enjoy having a complete collection or what have you.

$17K is a lot for a game. Wow.

Has this surpassed the value that one NES game yet? (Stadium events or whatever it is called?)

Oh, and the ROM of Air Raid is available at AtariAge in case anyone wants to check the game out.

This game is considerably more rare than Stadium Events. This is like, the second known boxed copy of Air Raid in existence.

I believe that the complete boxed Stadium Events ended up going for $13,000, while the sealed copy that showed up later ended up selling for $41,000+

The last boxed copy of Air Raid sold for $30,000+, and it was in rough shape. This one is pristine and has the manual, so I could easily see this going for more than sealed Stadium Events.

honestly i think what makes this particular game interesting is the mystery behind it all. up until a week and a half ago no one even knew if this game came with an instruction manual.

How can someone call themself a "retro gamer" and have no appreciation for rare video games and devoted/hardcore collectors?

Insane find! I can see some fanatic collector paying between 40-50k for this thing - it could very well be the only one in that kind of condition in existence. That being said, I think there are a lot more than 14 out in the wide world...people just aren't aware of how much there are worth and many are indeed probably sitting in attics, basements, and garages. As more and more awareness about the value of old games becomes known, I think we'll see a lot more of these kind of games pop up.

Anyone have any info about whether or not more copies of this game have surfaced?
