After many months of waiting, the first DQ5r patch is out thanks to the guys over at DQ Translations.

Instructions on how to patch your DQ5r ISO are included in the translation download. This should still work with FreeMCBoot, but I will confirm once I get a chance to run through the patching process.

Yeah, I'm knee deep in Dragon Warrior VII and was hoping to finish before this patch came out. Not sure if I should just jump ship to DQ5 now or what. Two DQ games going at once would be such a time-sink.

I would recommend you stick with DQVII. How far into it are you?

I think around the 30 hour mark. I should be getting the class system soon.
Re: Dragon Quest V Reprise Translation Patch Released (PS2)
I just beat DWVII about a month ago as some irc people might be able to attest to....I think I logged like 84 hours, but I didn't do the 2 bonus dungeons after the end of the game.

Oh wow, you have TONS more to do. Definately don't pick up DQV yet.

That's what I figured. Damn, DQVII is such a slow burn but I still like it.
