Nintendo World Championship Cartridge Being Destroyed?
Re: Nintendo World Championship Cartridge Being Destroyed?
I'd say the important thing is the software, not the plastic case it's embedded in. Since the software is easily available on the internet, the only point of the cartridge is to play it on a real NES. But you can do that with a reproduction, so the only value is in the rarity which is not really inherently valuable. But I'm kind of a utilitarian on these things.

At the end of the day, they guy would get the same effect if he sold it, therefore allowing somebody else to enjoy owning it. Then used the money he made from the sale to burn in front of a large amount of people. Winner all round.
However if he did the above in this country (burnt money) he could get arrested if he did it in a public place. It is illegal to deface any money with the queens head on in this country.
The guy is a complete attention whore though.

if done correctly (film it as a documentary, sell it) then he could easily make back the money and then some. assuming something like this is the plan...
