Clayfighter Remake Coming in 2010

Post by sevin0seven »

Interplay, the developer behind such games as Earthworm Jim and Run Like Hell, is currently gearing up for a Clayfighter remake.

The new claymation fighter is currently being developed by StuioBlack Games, a Phoenix based company founded in 2007 by Eric Hart, the same man who has also worked as a programmer on previous Clayfighter titles.

The new Clayfighter game is being developed for WiiWare and DSiWare, and is currently slated for a summer 2010 release.

I'm not a big Clayfighter fan, but for any...I'm happy for you :D

Wow that was completely unexpected. Of all the franchises to get the remake treatment... Interplay has 25 years of history to tap into and this is what they deem worth revisiting?!

The Clay Figher games are good for a laugh (though I preferred Ballz back in the day), but not much else. I couldn't see paying much for a remake.

Were there fans clamoring for this or something? What's next - Boogerman HD?

a remake, rebirth, or HD version of Earthworm Jim would had been a better choice than Clayfighter.

Yeah, I was just about to say same. It's nice to see Interplay going back to classics so hopefully it happens.

I am totally fine with a clayfighter remake. I have always loved playing as the Blob.
Earthworm jim I would rather a sequel then a remake. Earthworm Jim always looked great even by todays standards. I could live without boogerman. But think of how cool a Clayanimation game would look on todays consoles. It might actually look like clay come to life.

..hmmmm I guess. If they do it right. But graphics alone won't save this series. This game need serious gameplay make over.
