Outrun XBLA hype - new video on YouTube

I'm not one for racing games (unless you count mario kart) but this game looks pretty freaking fun.

Coming out this week, apparently. Reports say 800 points ($10), but not confirmed yet. Looks like it will be a port of the OR2 SP arcade game. So it has the SP courses, but not the OR2 courses. I'm getting this second hand from others - I have never played these two home ports - sorry if the info doesn't make sense.

So what's the difference between this and Out Run 2006: Coast 2 Coast?

From what I understand C2C was actually two games: Outrun 2 and Outrun 2SP. This XBLA release is just O2SP and does not include the original O2 tracks.

I got it. It's only the C2C tracks. It's got the additional features from SP like the slipstreaming and tuned cars but doesn't have the original courses, which is a shame but not a huge loss.

It does suffer from quite a lot of slowdown when there are a few cars on the track. That is very disappointing considering that the graphics aren't much upgraded from the xbox port (which incidentally didn't have any slow down).

I heard that OutRun is one of those Xbox games that do not run very well on a Xbox 360. That could explain it.

I see that its out on the PSN as well, just Europe only at this point. Maybe I will just get the PS2 game.

^I have the PC version and it's totally worth it. I may write a review later on.
