Considering this is one of my all-time favorite games (which says a lot since I usually shy away from 3D action games), I really want to encourange everyone to make an effort to try Jet Grind Radio.

Don't have a Dreamcast? You really should. It's an awesome console an it also happens to be one of the cheapest consoles you can buy.

Don't have the game? It's also dirt cheap. And of course, Dreamcasts play burned copies without mods if you want to go that route.

So, to get everyone pumped, I want to share a couple youtube vids with you

This one is the best mashup of video I've see

Since the above video doesn't use a song from the actual soundtrack, here's the Jet Set Medley that samples different tracks from the soundtrack -- I keep this on my iPod at all times

And just for kicks, here's the Jet Grind Radio art post I put together a while back

I hadn't thought about Jet Grind Radio in a long time, but I'll second racketboy and say it's a blast and you owe it to yourself to try it out. Jet Set Radio Future on the Xbox was also a lot of fun, so if you have the Xbox/Xbox 360 and want to see what it's like, there's always that option.

Thats awesome, I've tried it a few times, but never really sat down to play it. I just burnt about 20 new Dreamcast games so I'm in gaming heaven at the moment. Currently working trough PSO, but I just sold my MAG by accident. :x  Anyway that's a whole other topic...

When I used to go round to my friends house when he had an Xbox I'd make him put in JSRF even though he didn't like it. I was amazed by the graphical style and music, really different than my usual staple of Mario/Zelda (although Wind Waker screwed that up too, again different topic!) and it was just fun to play. Granted I was expecting a more Tony Hawk like playing style with controllable tricks, but I was taken by the art and sound style, it still sticks with me now.

And keep in mind, there is a slight learning curve, but I can assure you, if you invest the time to go through the tutorial sections (where you have to pull off stunts), it will be well worth your time.

Well wait a few weeks so we can play it together :)
I'm just giving everyone a heads up so they can line up their copy of the game.

BTW, even though I haven't played a whole lot of JSRF, I liked the original a bit more.
JSRF might be better for beginners as it simplifies the controls a bit, but it didn't seem quite as satisfying.

Argh! Now I'll need a new DC again. I keep giving them away to anyone who shows an interest, and my most recent one went to my youngest sister-in-law last month to take to college.
