while it's not a retro game, I'd just like to mention Her Story in my response to this - that's an FMV game that is 100% video clips. And it's amazing.

The Bunker, too, is fantastic, and it's also entirely live-action.

The bunker is from 2016. Are you okay with new games for your TR?

I wasn't suggesting Her Story for TR - just for the record. More I was plugging a game that is FMV and happens to be amazing. Just mentioning it in the conversation in general. There's plenty of cool FMV from the 90's to check out during TR month, though.

To be fair the OP does specify FMV games from the 90's, otherwise I'd be a bit iffy in my support (what with Together Retro and all that). But it also specifies live-action, which is a restriction I'd just as soon break if given half the opportunity to do so. Are we counting animated FMV under this category, or are we pretty strict on live-action?

Ah, so that nullifies The Bunker then. Fair enough.

I just noticed that the Army Men franchise was on sale from now through this weekend on Steam. In terms of theme it's definitely the long shot, but I figured it was worth a mention. Individual games for 3 bones, four game bundle for 12 (although I'd argue that it's not technically a bundle since it's exactly the same prices as purchasing the included games separately).

On the possibility that FMV might actually win...

"Let's pay homage to the cringiest of cut-scenes, the most sinful of cinematics, and the most meager of movies from games in the 1990s. Most of us love them, and all of us love to hate them, they're full motion video games! There are a lot of games that count here, and there's a lot of wiggle room for what could count. In general, any game released between 1990 and 1999 and includes live-action full motion video cut scenes counts." -Curator Elky

What are the cream of the crop FMV games of the '90s? As in legit good, not "ha ha it's so bad it's good" good. I know people have been dropping games here and there throughout this thread, but let's get that stuff a little more consolidated. Weigh our options as it were.

As for Neo Geo games that aren't just fighters, there's this article to start with:

http://www.racketboy.com/retro/best-und ... -geo-games

I don't consider that definitive personally, but it's a start.
