Since mechs looks like it'll win I've got Front Mission: Gun Hazard, Mobile Suit Gundam: Sidestory 2 and Omega Boost lined up. Depending on how that goes I could chuck in Virtual On and Battle Soccer 2.

Oh, yeah, everyone should play One Must Fall 2097, especially if you like fighting games.

Someone should make an unofficial HD remix and call it OMFG

Often seem top heavy and a bit too utilitarian for my tastes. Not saying my preference has to be super sleek like in most anime (tho I like that at times) I do like a mech that has a heft to it. Assault Suit games or my Skell in XCX is very bulky but still look cool.
This is funny when you consider the early Battletech designs that became the inspiration for many western sim games came from anime such as Macross, Dougram and Crusher Joe. There are some more agile humanoid western designs too of course like Heavy Gear which takes inspiration from the Assault Suits games and Armored Trooper Votoms.
Earthsiege's designs aren't great of course. They kind of had to work with the technology they had, it was still before dedicated GPUs were the norm so you get boxes with legs and guns which is cool in its own way.

There's an open source OMF project in the works actually but it's still in its early stages. People have been trying to get a hold of the lead developer Rob Elam in hopes of getting the original source code and maybe putting the game up on GOG but he's been elusive.

Brilliant choice for a brilliant action-RPG.

I still say Metal Warriors is better.

all this mech talk...it would be interesting to see if Ladies Night pulls out a last minute win. They are only 3 votes behind...

^ Same.
On the topic of mech shit tho..... Is Patlabor appropriate? I know nothing of this series, but recently ended up with one of these games.
