The first installment should be Sunday or Monday.
We're putting the first post together.

I personally say totally random, because I will worry about being left out if we begin with nothing but age old retro titles. My generation began with the NES, and though I do enjoy classic arcade games such as Defender, I imagine there will be many games from earlier generations I won't be able to get into. If everything is random, it would allow me to jump on a particular game without having to wait for everyone to get through an entire era of gaming I may or may not want to take part in.

Wry Guy, even though the votes seem to favor random, we are kinda going by eras. But we're not slogging through every game from one period. We're rotating quite rapidly. We started with Defender, moved to Kid Icarus, and we're polling for the next title from the 16-bit era. And when we're done with a rapid climb we'll just as rapidly start over at the bottom. That way we give everyone something to enjoy.

Exactly. It's kinda the best of both worlds.
It feels random, but we have a small sense of history as we jump eras in order.
