I replayed the final boss of X 3...
Without using the saber. Sigma shots are quite hard to dodge in the first half. The 2nd half isn't easy either but the first has really tight margins for the low-mid-high sequence, and it gets worse when the shield gets involved. The saber makes both fights way easier then they are apparently meant to be.

so apparently if you save on Sigma's last stage, you still have to start from his first stage when you load the game... awesome. :|

not that much different from the original Mega Man games.

It's tradition. You always have to do the boss stages in one go in Mega Man games.
