Mexico ate a good chunk of my month (and my colon), but I'm sitting down with this tomorrow. Any setup-related hiccups I should know about before going in thru Steam w/ a 360 controller?

Did everyone stop by the 'secret' room in Milla's world? I stick 'secret' in inverted commas as I've seen it mentioned as an Easter egg, but from my playthrough, there's an audio track blaring that somewhat points you in its direction. It's every bit as spooky as the legend suggest, mind.

Hrmm maybe I should play this since i do have it for some odd reason on my ps3. Would make a decent modern game to play while playing zelda. (seems like a nice combination to play a newer/3d game in combination with my 8bit games)

I found it when looking for the extra figments. It is a bit strong actually, the harshest thing in the game I think and it feels out of place, because everything else even if more evil is toned down by jokes.

Yeah, I agree Milla's Nightmare is out of tone with the rest of the game. Apparently it's a leftover from a previous concept, apparently there are tons of lines and ideas in the code that ended up being cut.

I have to admit, I feel guilty every time this thread is bumped. I genuinely wanted to give this game a fair chance, but I haven't really. Like I said, I always hated the art, but when I actually did play the game I found the platforming a lot of fun. But what I didn't find fun was... well, everything that wasn't the platforming. I don't really care for the story from what I've seen. I don't like exploring the camp. I don't like collecting shit. I don't like feeling like I need a FAQ to even know where the next level is. I don't know. It's turned me off from really giving it another go.

I can understand your frustration. The game was released during the PS2 era of gaming where game design was still pretty rough and in the adolescence of mixing gameplay with story elements. The game is much more enjoyable a second time around because you know where to go and you can start to really enjoy and notice those precious moments. The problem is overcoming those initial obstacles that are inherent in almost every game of that generation.

Ok, so I got the duster and just passed the Theater stage. Entering the Asylum. I won't give up because I know I'm close to the end.

I really didn't want this game to be nearly as frustrating in spots as The Lost Vikings was last month, but it's getting to that point. So many design decisions that could have been easily fixed, but I'm still liking it.

Theater, boardgame, and bull levels all finished. Not as frustrating as I thought. The bull level was kinda cool, but not as good as the lungfish level. I've read all the bad stuff about the final level, and I'm hoping it's not getting to the level of Lost Vikings-frustrating. I just don't want to have to re-do entire portions of it, and I know how bad escort missions can be.

I'm finding the re-braining to be a nice diversion, however. The Mental Magnet makes things a whole lot easier too.

I'm at rank 52 or 53 now. Got a new ability for Levitation.

The more I play it, this quote from earlier in the month nails it. It has all the pieces in place. Heck, the voice of Raz also did Invader Zim AND Alpha 5 from MMPR? Ai yi yi yi yi!!!!!

There is absolutely way too much shit to collect in this game.
