Final set of levels at last.

I've gotten a bit frustrated with the mix of elements. Tends to feel like figuring out the puzzle/order to do things should be enough without needing to nail a platforming segment possibly three times in a row. Starts to feel like a Souls game with repeating half a level over and over due to failing a later element, but even those open up shortcuts/etc

Yeah knowing the order in which to do things and exactly how to do them can get tricky.

Like in one of the later Wacky levels there's that part where you need to push the block on top of Olaf's shield. Mess that up and boom - gotta restart the whole damn thing.

Some of the final space stages are tricky. Good news is that the final stage of the game isn't too tough - it's more fun than anything.

Can't wait to get out of these Egyptian levels. I don't like the constantly jumping enemies. They can go right over Olaf's shield hurting him, and then you have to be super accurate with Baleog's sword. Had to repeat a level several times because of that.

You don't even want to use Olaf when you fight the jumpers. Just go in with Baleog alone. Use the sword and be aggressive, the arrows are too slow. A good slash will cause the jumpers to jump backwards. Just hit them again when they come towards you.

Thats where I am too. The 2nd Egypt level. It took me forever to beat the first bubbles stage.

Ah, so it went for me the exact same way.

Before even coming to this thread, I had a thought. Obviously our friend BSD had a huge hand in getting this game up on the calendar this year, and he's breezed through quite a few versions of this, and he's just handing out wholesale advice to all those who are getting a bit frustrated with it. It just reminds me of all the times I gotta help him or others out in games they're not too familiar with every month here on TR. So in gaming, iron sharpens iron.

I like this game, even though it can be a bit troublesome when the vikings blame you for failing (and then one of them saying "careful, human beings are sensitive"

Finally finished this earlier today. Ultimately, I felt it was frustrating in ways it didn't need to be, which took away from the game as a whole. Ended up just being relieved I was done with it.

For the time it was probably good, but given that puzzle platformers are apparently the "games they really wanted to make" for a lot of indie studios, there's been a lot of iteration on the formula. Not having limited lives or something was a wise choice, but otherwise, again, much too harsh with no midpoints or ways to get a character back short of restarting the level.

Still nice to have played it, since it was a game I was aware of back in the day but had never tried until this.

Made it outta Egypt! Now at a little over 50%.

I found out what that Exploder item does now. Sweet stuff! That and those fire arrows for Baleog.

Plus, dat new area music. I'm so making this an MP3 and putting it in Symphony. It will make a good level

Factory levels are a ton of fun. Just try not to get squished.

Strangely, there were some (unintentionally?) missing graphics in one level in the SNES version that were added to the Genesis port.

The yellow circular saw enemies are best approached with Baleog alone instead of Olaf + Baleog. Arrows are your best bet this time, though. And the laser gun guys can be taken down by Erik's head bashes.
