Could it be that they class "potions" as drugs?
The mythology sure is all over the place in this game: Ragnarok and Yygdrasil combining with fallen angels and (multiple versions of) Lillith.
It's interesting and unique in its gameplay though. It already has me interested in the other games in the series.

You can eat mushrooms in one of the forests - maybe that counts as drugs?

Anyone else still playing this. I've been really enjoyoing filling bus journey's with it on my GB Micro.
I've noticed that if you continue after dying the enemy you are fighting gets progressively weaker each time. This is a nice feature, I suppose, for people who can be put off by very difficult fights.
I'm enjoying the story and will definately check out the other dept Heaven games after I beat this one.
