Killer7

Post by sayewonn »

This is one of the strangest games you'll ever play. It has many design decisions that are baffling and will turn off many. Yet I still found Killer7 to be incredibly compelling once you accept that it is flawed. Damn shame that the story becomes a convoluted mess in its latter half though.

You were better off not knowing this game exists. I'm sorry.

Mega Man X

The first in the now classic 16-bit series. After years of boring sequels took their time getting Mega Man's 16-bit debut right. Lots of smart additions that you can easily miss and just enough story to make it interesting. I paid almost $70.00 for it in 1994 and it was more than worth it.

Mega Man X2

Probably my favorite of the SNES trilogy. An excellent sequel but you can already see how Capcom cut back on the little touches that made the first Mega Man X special. Sadly it would only get worse before it got better in my opinion.

Solid but far from my favorite in the series.

Mega Man X4

My second favorite in the series and an all around awesome game. It doesn't add much but nails almost everything so well it doesn't matter. Playing as Zero with his separate campaign is reason enough to go through it twice and he plays differently as well. The only real knock is the horrible voice acting.

Not as good as X4 but still solidly entertaining. I can't quite put my finger on why I don't like it as much though. If only Capcom weren't so greedy and stopped here, it would have lead in to the excellent Mega Man Zero series perfectly outside of skipping the Elf Wars.

Mega Man X6

Disappointing best describes this. From the bad level design and uneven difficulty I came away sorely disappointed with this one. Damn shame that it has one of the best soundtracks in the series, including the original Mega Man games. Its better than the game deserves.

One of the worst games I've played in a long time. This is early PlayStation levels of bad game design. I can't think of a single good point about this game. I suffered through it again for this review and will never touch it again.
