A nice improvement over the original. A bit too cheap and hard for my taste but I still like it.

Been playing Splatterhouse 1-3 a lot lately and this pretty much nails it. It's all style over substance, and I can't help but laugh at some of the enemy/boss designs they came up with. That's what makes the games worth playing, even if 2 is nearly impossible to complete

I still like it but damn if my memory of the game wasn't better than the reality. I absolutely love Splatterhouse 3 though, that game has held up great.

Castlevania: Bloodlines

A truly great game that isn't often spoken of within the series. Konami were on fire with the Genesis and this is some of their best work.

Castlevania: Dracula X

Disappointing but still a decent game. Take it for what it is and not what it could have been and you'll enjoy it. That soundtrack is beyond amazing, I like some the compositions better than Rondo of Blood!

Castlevania 64

There are some decent level design in here and at times I had fun. But man is the execution all over the place. The disappointment is even greater as this came after Symphony of the Night.

Better than its predecessor but still not an especially good game.

Castlevania Chronicles

A solid remake of the first game. This is pretty far down on the list of games I would recommend in the series despite that honestly.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

Post by sayewonn »

Better than the N64 games but has problems of its own. At the very least it it provided a nice base to expand the 3d Castlevania games from. I had a hard time scoring this one; the flaws are pretty large but at the same time I still enjoyed it.

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness

Post by sayewonn »

A large improvement on its predecessor but it fixes that game's problems while introducing many of its own. That being said I really enjoyed many of the systems at play such as stealing materials and crafting, which is what kept me playing until the end.
