Re: My blog - JRPG Densetsu
I honestly don't remember where I used to get my ROMs. I certainly miss the "old internet" though. So much character.
Emulation was actually one of my first forays into "PC gaming." I remember not knowing how to configure a controller so I mostly stuck to turn-based JRPGs.

Seriously. Internet glory years for me were 1995-2002. After that, internet accessibility and ease of use rapidly increased, and the whole experience suffered for it. I know that's an elitist asshole thing to say and I am what I am. I'm well aware that dedicated forums like this are become extinct relics also.

Well done. Glad to see it really does play out like I remember it. I think I ended up blazing through it just a tiny bit after you did, in 2001 or so. I also think I downloaded this from the long dead Cult of Kefka website. Now that...that was a long time ago.
I used to go there. (:
I ran an RPG emulation site around that time: RPGClassics - but not the walkthrough site (my URL was ThisIsNotAPornSite.com). I accidentally chose the same name so we partnered and referred to one another as the Other RPGClassics. Kind of funny, but I still occasionally run into a dead link over there directed to my site.
Check out my YouTube Channel DariaPlays for super nerdy video reviews on classic RPGs and Adventure titles. Bonus: I don't suck! Pinky-swear.

nice post, dood. I always loved this game. I got this, then the first game - so it def had a big hold on me back then. I think they're both brilliant and put only LTTP and WW above them.

Re: My blog - JRPG Densetsu
I love both of your Zelda reviews. Someday I'll get to those games. One thing I intend to do is give series a second or third chance - (famous) series that never really clicked with me.
Zelda is definitely one of those. The only one I've ever been compelled to complete was Link's Awakening - a high point for a 4th grade me. Other than that, the series just doesn't do anything for me. File this one under "unpopular gaming opinions."

I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.

Re: My blog - JRPG Densetsu
Thanks dudes.
Zelda II was actually the third NES game I acquired, after Super Mario Bros. and the first Zelda.
I'm gonna continue with more Zelda stuff. A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening are two of my favorite games ever.

Sorry dude, this isn't the case. Majora's Mask follows directly from Ocarina, and Phantom Hourglass follows directly from Wind Waker. In both cases, they're the same link as the previous game.
