I missed your Earthworm Jim vid, drunk. Great stuff. I still absolutely love those games. I agree with you on the Genesis version over the SNES, at least for the first game. Down the Tubes recycles New Junk City's music in the SNES version for some reason, it's lacking the Intestinal stage, and the Genesis version just looks sharper and sounds better. I like the SNES version of 2 more than the Genesis one in that case though. I honestly don't know if I have ever once beaten 2 legitimately. I always get stuck on the newpapers level and never know what to do, but I know I got to the final stage once back in the day and got a game over there. I think you have to race the black crow dude. That overhead bomb stage sucks ass too. I still love 2 a lot and both games are oozing with charm, but yeah I'd probably say I am more fond of the original. I used to think the water race was extremely hard as a kid, but whenever I go back to it now I can get through it fairly easily. The escort mission with the dog is tough, but yeah I can beat this one usually nowadays. The "HD" remake was kind of neat, but them dubbing over Tommy Tallarico's voicing for Jim was a lame move.

I should play more of the Sega CD version of 1 someday. The CD version of 2 is amazing as well. It's cool how all versions just have kickass music.

I just watched your newest Nintendo Power video, Drunk With Nintendo Power: Volume 22, March 1991, Metal Storm.

That's awesome that you still have your video game notes from back then. And it amused me that you copied something out of a magazine with the good old pen and paper method. I've done that a few times myself. These days, you would just snap a pic of that page with your cell phone. That would have seemed like James Bond tech back then! Your only other option in the 90's would be to pay 10 cents to copy it in black and white at the library. Hell, I remember when my library got a fancy color copier, but it was $1 a page! I guess these days, you wouldn't even have the magazine. You would find that table on a web site and just save the JPEG or whatever.

But that's awesome that you still have your gaming notes. Is there other stuff in that notebook other than that Mega Man table? I still have this folder that's jammed full of mag clippings, notes, and early Internet printouts.
